Ingredients:
- 4 freshly grated coconuts
- 10 grams curry leaves
- 10 grams green chilies
- 4 onions, sliced
- 20 grams turmeric powder
- 15 grams ginger and garlic
- 10 grams cardamom
- 10 grams cinnamon
- 10 grams cloves
- 20 grams black pepper
- 1 nutmeg
- 20 grams khus khus
- 10 grams cumin seeds
- 10 grams fennel seeds
- 100 grams Kashmiri red chili
- 4 crabs
- Salt, to taste
- 2 grams turmeric powder
- 40 grams onion, chopped
- 10 grams green chili, chopped
- 5 grams garlic, chopped
- 20 grams tomato, chopped
- Salt, to taste
Cooking Method:
- Begin by roasting the spices mentioned in sections A and B separately. Allow them to cool before grinding them into a smooth paste.
- Marinate the crabs with lemon juice, turmeric powder, and salt. In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic and onion until they turn golden brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies, cooking for 5 to 6 minutes.
- Introduce the marinated crabs to the pan, cooking them for 8 to 10 minutes. Add the freshly prepared xacuti masala, stirring continuously. If needed, add water and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Adjust the seasoning according to taste and garnish with chopped coriander. Serve this delicious crab dish with warm poi bread for a true Goan experience.
