Vivo is preparing to launch its latest smartwatch, the Vivo Watch 5, in China on April 21 alongside the Vivo X200 Ultra, Vivo X200s smartphones, and the Vivo Pad 5 Pro and Vivo Pad SE tablets. Ahead of its official unveiling, the company has shared several key specifications and features of the new wearable, showcasing major upgrades over its predecessor, the Vivo Watch 3.
The Vivo Watch 5 will run on Vivo’s proprietary BlueOS operating system right out of the box. It supports a range of health monitoring functions including heart rate tracking, arrhythmia detection, and a new 30-second blood pressure risk assessment tool. A highlight of this smartwatch is its AI-driven functionality, including running guidance and the inclusion of the AI voice assistant “Blue Heart Xiao V” (translated from Chinese), which aims to enhance hands-free interactivity.
Weighing only 32 grams, the Vivo Watch 5 is designed for comfort and long-term wear. It promises an impressive battery life of up to 22 days on a single charge, marking a significant improvement from the 16-day battery support offered by the previous Vivo Watch 3. This makes the device an ideal choice for users seeking minimal downtime and fewer charging interruptions.
In terms of design, promotional materials suggest that the Vivo Watch 5 will maintain a circular dial and sport a side-mounted crown and function button. This design closely resembles the Vivo Watch 3, which came with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, a 466 x 466 resolution, and ran on a BES2700BP chipset combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The new model is expected to continue with similar premium build quality while enhancing software capabilities.
Vivo has not yet revealed the official price of the Vivo Watch 5, but considering the Vivo Watch 3 launched at CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs. 12,600) for the Bluetooth version and CNY 1,299 (about Rs. 14,900) for the eSIM model, the upcoming wearable is expected to be competitively priced in the same range.
