The epic Monsterverse saga continues as Legendary has officially confirmed the title and release date for the highly anticipated sequel to Godzilla x Kong. Titled Godzilla x Kong: Supernova the next installment is currently in production and will hit theaters on March 26 2026 under the direction of Grant Sputore known for I Am Mother. The script is penned by Dave Callaham who is also recognized for his work on Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Fans of the franchise can expect a thrilling continuation after the success of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire which emerged as one of the highest-grossing chapters in the Monsterverse. The upcoming film promises to bring even more colossal battles and introduce new human characters alongside returning Titans.
Taking to X formerly known as Twitter the official Godzilla x Kong page shared a teaser message “Please stand by. Your call is very important to us. #GodzillaXKong: Supernova | Now in production. Only in theaters March 26 2026. Report a Titan Sighting. Call (240) MON-ARCH.”
The sequel is set to feature a powerful ensemble cast including Kaitlyn Dever Jack O’Connell Delroy Lindo Matthew Modine Alycia Debnam-Carey Sam Neill and Dan Stevens. Stevens will reprise his role as veterinarian Trapper Beasley from the 2024 film. This film is expected to dive deeper into the Titans’ universe as Godzilla and Kong are forced to confront a catastrophic new threat that could spell the end of the world.

While many fans expressed excitement some urged the creators to provide better storytelling and more screen time for Godzilla after feeling he was overshadowed in the previous film.
