Apple enthusiasts may finally see the launch of the much-anticipated Apple Watch Ultra 3 later this year. According to a recent report by industry analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Tech Research, Apple is gearing up to introduce the next-generation rugged smartwatch in 2025, possibly in September during its annual iPhone event. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to debut alongside the Apple Watch Series 11, iPhone 17 lineup, and HomePod 6 smart speaker.
Jeff Pu’s product roadmap for Apple outlines expected launches from 2025 through 2027, offering a detailed look at what the tech giant may be preparing. In 2026, Apple is predicted to unveil the Apple Watch Series 12, along with updates to its popular AirPods Pro lineup—specifically, the AirPods Pro 3. A refreshed Apple Vision Pro headset is also said to be in development for release in the same year.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3, which many believed would launch in 2024, only saw a new color variant of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 released instead. Apple had launched the Watch Ultra 2 in September 2023, and since then, speculation around its successor has been swirling. Notable tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also projected the Apple Watch Ultra 3 to be released in 2025, aligning with Pu’s latest claims.
In terms of innovation, Apple may introduce a blood pressure monitoring feature in its smartwatches by 2027. This would likely coincide with the debut of smart glasses and an affordable mixed reality headset named Vision Air, also expected in 2027.
Adding to the excitement, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously suggested that the Watch Ultra 3 could come with satellite connectivity, enhancing its outdoor capabilities. Improvements such as a more efficient LTPO 3 OLED display and a larger battery are also anticipated, promising better performance and longer usage time for outdoor adventurers and fitness enthusiasts.
Apple’s ongoing work on watchOS 26 will reportedly introduce a more customizable Control Center for the Apple Watch lineup, giving users greater flexibility and convenience.
With an expanding product ecosystem and more powerful wearables on the horizon, Apple is poised to maintain its dominance in the smartwatch market in the coming years.
