A new chapter in AI driven entertainment has begun as virtual performer Tilly Norwood releases her debut single and music video titled Take the Lead. The project was developed by Xicoia Studios, giving audiences an early preview of the creative universe known as the “Tilly verse,” where AI characters are designed to interact and perform within digital entertainment.
The song and video mark the first major release for the AI personality ahead of her planned acting debut later this year. The music video presents several imaginative scenes including Norwood performing on a rooftop in London, swinging from a disco ball, relaxing in a bathtub and even floating through the sky on an inflatable flamingo.
At the beginning of the video a note clarifies that the production involved 18 real human creators working behind the scenes including designers editors prompters and performers. The message highlights that even AI driven projects still depend heavily on human creativity and production expertise.
The concept behind the track was inspired by an essay written by Eline van der Velden, who created the AI character and leads the production company Particle6. The lyrics reflect the ongoing debate in the entertainment industry about artificial intelligence and its role in creative professions.
In the song Norwood expresses themes about identity creativity and perception as an AI performer. Lines in the track discuss how some people view AI characters as simple tools while the creators behind them see them as artistic projects powered by technology and human collaboration.
The song itself was generated using Suno, while the video was produced by Particle6 using a combination of widely available AI tools along with its own creative workflow. The production also used performance capture technology where van der Velden acted out the movements and expressions of the AI character.
Van der Velden explained that Tilly Norwood was never intended to replace actors but instead serves as a creative experiment exploring how artificial intelligence can expand storytelling and entertainment.
She also emphasized that despite the advanced technology involved successful AI content still relies on human imagination direction and artistic judgment. According to her the goal is to explore new forms of storytelling rather than remove the human element from filmmaking and performance.
With the release of Take the Lead the Tilly verse is now officially underway introducing audiences to a new digital performer that blends artificial intelligence with traditional filmmaking techniques.
