Ingredients for Aloo Beetroot Halwa
- 1 medium potato (parboiled and peeled)
- 3 medium beetroots (parboiled and peeled)
- ½ cup sugar
- 125 grams khoya (mawa)
- ¾ cup milk
- 3 tbsp pure ghee
- ¼ tsp green cardamom powder
- Almonds, blanched peeled and slivered (for garnish)
Method to Make Aloo Beetroot Halwa
- Grate potato and beetroot in one direction only for a smooth texture.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan and sauté the grated potato and beetroot for 2–3 minutes.
- Add sugar and continue to cook for another 2–3 minutes.
- Mix in grated khoya (mawa) and sauté for 2 minutes until blended.
- Pour in milk and cook for a couple of minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Add half the almonds and half of the green cardamom powder and mix well.
- Garnish with remaining almonds and cardamom powder.
- Serve hot. Optionally, decorate with silver warq for a festive touch.
