Dubai’s vibrant contemporary art scene is set to come alive once again as Alserkal Art Week makes its highly anticipated return this April. Known for celebrating creativity and innovation, the event showcases groundbreaking works from regional and international artists, providing visitors with an immersive cultural experience.
Taking place at Alserkal Avenue from Sunday, April 13, to Sunday, April 20, 2025, this year’s edition follows the theme “A Wild Stitch” and presents a diverse array of exhibitions, installations, and performances. Visitors can explore a curated selection of over 15 new gallery exhibitions, featuring works from artists across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. These thought-provoking pieces delve into themes of displacement, resilience, and identity.
Must-See Highlights
One of the standout exhibitions is “Vanishing Points”, a compelling showcase by Pakistani artist Imran Qureshi, curated by Nada Raza. This multimedia exhibition uses video, photography, painting, and installation to challenge viewers’ perceptions, presenting the world in a miniature perspective.
Additionally, visitors can experience new public art commissions, curated by Fatoş Üstek, featuring works by Nujoom Alghanem and Shilpa Gupta. These pieces invite audiences to question concepts of belonging while fostering awareness of the physical and social landscapes that shape artistic expression.
Alongside these exhibitions, the event will host Majlis Talks, a series of debates and discussions exploring complex and unconventional topics within the contemporary art world.
