The Asia Cup 2025 will officially take place in the United Arab Emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi confirmed as host cities from September 9 to September 28. The T20 tournament will feature the top cricketing nations of Asia including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Oman, Hong Kong, and the UAE.
One of the biggest attractions of the tournament will be the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 14. There’s also a possibility that the two rivals could face each other up to three times during the competition—once in the group stage, once in the Super Four, and potentially again in the grand final on September 28.
India and Pakistan are the first teams to reveal their full squads for the event. India’s squad, led by Suryakumar Yadav, includes Shubman Gill, Abishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana. Pakistan’s squad, captained by Salman Ali Agha, features Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Mohammed Nawaz, Mohammed Haris, Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Abrar Ahmed, Salman Mirza, Hussain Talat, Syfyan Moqim, and Hasan Nawaz.
The group stage will see India drawn in Group A alongside Pakistan, Oman, and UAE, while Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong make up Group B. Each team will play their group opponents once, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the Super Four stage. The Super Four will decide the finalists who will compete for the title on September 28 in Dubai.
Fixtures for Group A begin with India vs UAE on September 10 in Dubai, followed by Pakistan vs Oman on September 12, and the blockbuster India vs Pakistan match on September 14. Group B matches will open with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong on September 9 in Abu Dhabi.
The tournament, which was initially scheduled to be hosted by India, was relocated entirely to the UAE due to political tensions between the Indian and Pakistani cricket boards. Unlike the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year, which had games split between Pakistan and the UAE, the Asia Cup 2025 will be staged exclusively in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Ticket information is expected to be released soon. Considering the success of the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai earlier this year, tickets—especially for India vs Pakistan—are predicted to be in high demand.
