Netflix has officially released the seventh season of the globally acclaimed anthology series Black Mirror on April 10 2025, delivering six brand-new episodes that dive deep into the unsettling yet fascinating intersections between technology and human life. The new season continues the show’s legacy of psychological thrills and thought-provoking storytelling, now tackling themes such as artificial intelligence virtual reality memory manipulation and simulation technology.
Unveiled through a teaser trailer on March 31, the new season features an impressive cast ensemble and a diverse set of storylines that range from emotional to eerie. Each episode offers a unique lens on how advancing tech reshapes our identity privacy relationships and sanity.
The season opens with “Common People,” starring Chris O’Dowd Rashida Jones and Tracee Ellis Ross, in which a man uses a revolutionary system called Rivermind to support his sick wife. But instead of relief, it leads to her being exploited for ad displays during real-world interactions.
Episode two titled “Bête Noire” follows a chilling office reunion between two women, portrayed by Siena Kelly and Rosy McEwen. One begins to exhibit disturbing behaviour that’s oddly invisible to others at work.
In episode three, “Eulogy,” actors Paul Giamatti and Patsy Ferran bring to life a tale of tech that enables people to relive memories through photographs. But for one reclusive man, this journey into the past may become a trap he cannot escape.
Episode four, “Hotel Reverie,” stars Emma Corrin Issa Rae Awkwafina and Harriet Walter. It introduces Redream, a simulation where a Hollywood actor becomes stuck in a romantic film remake. She must follow the storyline exactly to break free from the illusion.
The penultimate episode “Plaything” features Peter Capaldi and Lewis Gribben. It explores the growing obsession of a lonely gamer with a 90s video game, where he starts interacting with the game’s non-playable characters, questioning his grasp on reality.
The final episode titled “USS Callister: Into Infinity” continues the fan-favourite narrative from season 4. Cristin Milioti returns as the lead, dealing with new cosmic dilemmas after the demise of the antagonist Robert Daly, previously played by Jesse Plemons.
All six episodes of Black Mirror Season 7 are now streaming exclusively on Netflix, giving fans another dose of unsettling visions of our near-future tech landscape.
