Chris Evans has returned to the big screen as Johnny Storm in Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ after a 17-year break. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Evans expressed that revisiting his role as Johnny Storm was an unforgettable experience.
The actor shared his excitement on his Instagram Story, thanking the film’s cast and director for the opportunity to return to the superhero world. “A huge thanks to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy for including me in this incredible film,” Evans wrote. “They are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. A special shoutout to Ryan for making this possible. Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he’ll always hold a special place in my heart.”
In addition, Evans posted a photo of himself with three men on the set of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ While Evans is widely known for his portrayal of Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his earlier role as Johnny Storm in ‘Fantastic Four’ (2005) and ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’ (2007) is often overlooked.
Fans were surprised when Evans appeared in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ alongside Reynolds and Jackman. Many expected him to portray a multiverse version of Captain America. Instead, he reprised his role as Johnny Storm, thrilling the audience as he ignited into the Human Torch, even surprising Deadpool himself.
