Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has begun teasing the upcoming CMF Phone 2, the expected successor to the CMF Phone 1 launched last year. A recent teaser released by the brand offers a glimpse of the phone’s redesigned back panel, showcasing a matte textured surface that is both stylish and tactile. This teaser hints at a significant design shift and possible hardware upgrades.

In a short video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the CMF Phone 2 is partially revealed, displaying plastic edges and a visible screw, indicating a modular or user-serviceable approach to design. The teaser hints at a matte-finished panel that reflects light differently when held at varying angles. This could be a plastic or aluminum back, although the current CMF Phone 1 features a polycarbonate panel, with vegan leather used in some variants like the blue colorway.

One of the biggest rumored upgrades includes a triple rear camera system, a step up from the dual-camera setup on the CMF Phone 1, which came with a 50MP main sensor and a portrait lens. Leaked renders seem to confirm the presence of a third camera, possibly an ultra-wide or macro lens, to enhance photography capabilities.

The CMF by Nothing logo is seen placed subtly on the bottom-left corner of the phone’s rear, adding to its visual identity. Another returning feature could be the Accessory Point system, which lets users attach custom accessories such as stands, card holders, or lanyards, and the teaser reinforces its presence.

Although full specifications remain under wraps, the CMF Phone 2 is expected to feature modest upgrades over its predecessor, which launched with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display120Hz refresh rateMediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging. If leaks prove accurate, the CMF Phone 2 could refine the user experience through a better camera system, design innovation, and accessory compatibility.

Tech enthusiasts can expect more details in the coming weeks as Nothing prepares to officially unveil the CMF Phone 2, blending affordable pricing with fresh design and functional enhancements.
