BigHit Music’s newest boy group CORTIS transformed their debut into an unforgettable milestone with a high-energy release party in Seoul. Just weeks after stepping into the K-pop industry, the five-member group unveiled their first album Colour Outside the Lines at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium on September 8.
Fans across 190 countries joined via Weverse, YouTube, and TikTok, while the live venue itself turned into a two-hour spectacle. Martin, James, Joo Hoon, Sung Hyun, and Gun Ho showcased every track from their EP, including their prerelease single Go!, the high-octane title song What You Want (performed with an elaborate stage featuring 31 treadmills), and B-sides like Joyride and Lullaby. Each performance highlighted the group’s versatility and creativity, proving why they are quickly emerging as one of K-pop’s most promising rookie acts.
Calling the event their “first solo concert since debut,” the members told fans, “It’s such a joyous occasion, and we want to celebrate it together. Please enjoy it like a real party.”
Global Reactions Flood Social Media
Social media platforms were ablaze as fans praised the group’s charisma and stage presence. Comments poured in with excitement: “They’re really made to be on stage, especially Martin, who kept the energy alive,” and “This doesn’t feel like rookie behaviour at all.” Others raved about the concert-like atmosphere, calling it “SO SO SO FUN” and “not just a release party but a full-scale show.”
Who Are CORTIS?
CORTIS describe themselves as a “young creative crew” redefining the idol formula. Unlike many groups, all five members actively contribute to songwriting, composition, videography, and even stage design. Their name represents their philosophy of “painting outside the lines.”
The group is BigHit’s first boy band launch since TXT in 2019. Leading the team is Martin, the 17-year-old Canadian-Korean prodigy already credited with writing songs for TXT, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT even before debuting as an idol.
With such a powerful debut, CORTIS have positioned themselves not just as rookies but as global artists with limitless potential.
