The first official trailer for Coyote vs. Acme has finally been unveiled, offering audiences a glimpse into one of Hollywood’s most talked-about comeback stories. The film, which was previously shelved by Warner Bros., is now set to hit theaters after being saved and picked up for distribution by Ketchup Entertainment.

The storyline follows the iconic Wile E. Coyote as he takes legal action against the Acme Corporation for years of failed gadgets and disastrous outcomes. Teaming up with billboard accident lawyer Kevin Avery, played by Will Forte, the character enters a courtroom battle against corporate lawyer Buddy Crane, portrayed by John Cena.

The trailer also features beloved Looney Tunes characters including Sylvester, Tweety and Foghorn Leghorn, adding nostalgic appeal for longtime fans.

Originally planned as a streaming release, the movie became a major headline when Warner Bros. decided to cancel it in 2023 as part of a financial write-down strategy under CEO David Zaslav. However, strong public reaction and industry interest ultimately led to the project being revived.

Directed by Dave Green, the film is inspired by a humorous article written by Ian Frazier and published in The New Yorker. The screenplay has been developed by a team including Samy Burch, James Gunn and Jeremy Slater.

Set for a theatrical release on August 28, 2026, the film is expected to attract significant attention as both a comedy and a test case for studio decision-making in Hollywood. The project’s journey from cancellation to cinema screens has made it one of the most unique film stories in recent years.
