How to Prepare Chicken Samosa
Step 1: Preparing the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, add all-purpose flour, ghee, salt, and ajwain. Combine well.
- Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Making the Chicken Filling
- Cut the chicken thighs into small pieces and grind them lightly to get a minced texture.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and whole coriander seeds. Fry for a few seconds.
- Add onions and sauté briefly. Then, add the minced chicken and cook for a few minutes.
- Season with salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, amchur powder, and kasuri methi. Mix well.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Once cooked, turn off the heat and allow the stuffing to cool completely.
Step 3: Assembling the Samosas
- Knead the dough once again and divide it into small portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape and cut it in half.
- Shape each half into a cone, using water to seal the edges.
- Fill each cone with the chicken mixture and seal the bottom properly. Repeat for all samosas.
Step 4: Frying the Samosas
- Heat oil in a deep pan over low to medium heat.
- Carefully place the samosas in hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
