About The Buckingham Murders Directed by Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders features Kareena Kapoor, Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. Set in the UK, the film follows Sergeant Jasmeet ‘Jass’ Bhamra (played by Kareena Kapoor) as she grapples with the loss of her young son Ekam (Mairaaj Kakkar) while investigating the case of a missing boy named Ishpreet, who is of similar age to her late son. Hansal Mehta on Box Office Numbers In an interview with DNA, Hansal Mehta shared his thoughts on the film’s box office performance, saying, “I’d be lying if I said I don’t get nervous. I can afford to take a break now. Earlier, I couldn’t, so I used to hide. Now, before the film’s release, I leave and cut off. It allows you to move on, or you get stuck. It’s a tough balance. PR firms don’t let me cut off that easily. Unfortunately, we have made this a very short game, a weekend game. I believe films are for posterity and reflection over time. We reduce films to a number, which I find demeaning to the work we have done.”
