Meydan Racecourse is set to host a stylish and exciting race day as the Dubai Racing Carnival continues its season with Fashion Friday. Taking place on Friday, January 23, the event features a strong lineup of nine group races, making it a major highlight of the winter racing calendar. Visitors can enjoy top-tier horse racing action, high-end hospitality, and a fashionable atmosphere perfect for dressing up and spending the day with family and friends.
The main attraction of the evening is the prestigious G1 Al Maktoum Challenge, a race with a prize of USD 1 million (around Dhs 3.6 million). This race is also a key stepping stone for horses aiming to compete in the Dubai World Cup in March. Gates open at 4pm, with the first race starting at 5.30pm, offering plenty of time for guests to settle in and soak up the atmosphere. Families are welcome, and the kids’ village will be open from 4pm to 10pm, providing entertainment while the races unfold.
Fashion Friday is all about style and luxury, with plenty of activities beyond the racetrack. Visitors can explore the Millinery Exhibition in Concourse 3, where bespoke headwear from designers like Evelyn McDermott and Lisa Tan will be on display and available for purchase. The Paddock Garden will feature live art performances by Samia Art from 6.30pm, including real-time abaya painting. Later in the evening, DJ Slim will take over the Paddock Garden from 10.45pm to keep the energy alive.
Hospitality options include premium experiences such as The MAINE’s signature American-style dining at Suite 401 and the Finish Line Brunch at The Gallery, offering a unique twist on the traditional Dubai brunch. For those looking to take home souvenirs, the DRC Merch Shop at Gate 3 and Gate 4 stocks official race day apparel. Fashion Friday is one of the most anticipated social events of the season and a must-visit for anyone looking to combine glamour, entertainment, and world-class horse racing.
