Dubai is set to revolutionize its public transport network with the introduction of the Dubai Metro Blue Line, which will stretch 30 kilometers and connect 14 strategically located stations across nine prominent districts in the city. Slated for completion in 2029, this ambitious infrastructure project will reshape daily commuting and urban connectivity in the emirate.
A major highlight of the project is the recently announced Emaar Properties Station, which will serve as a central hub along the Blue Line. Officially named after the renowned developer Emaar for the first decade of operations, this landmark station will rise 74 meters high and span 38 meters in width, making it the tallest metro station in the world.
Designed with an 11,000-square-meter footprint, the station is expected to handle up to 160,000 passengers daily, with a minimum of 70,000 users on a regular basis. The Emaar Properties Station will specifically cater to the growing community at Dubai Creek Harbour, which is projected to house around 40,000 residents, along with tourists and daily visitors.
Architecturally inspired by the concept of a “gateway,” the station will feature a striking design that integrates seamlessly into the surrounding skyline of Dubai Creek Harbour. It will include a central atrium that allows natural light to flood the platform levels during the day and will glow like a beacon at night, enhancing the urban ambiance of the area.
The interiors will exude elegance and comfort, incorporating natural textures and warm earth tones, with towering walls that emphasize space and sophistication. By 2040, projections estimate that daily ridership on the Blue Line will reach 320,000 passengers. This will be the first Dubai Metro line to traverse the iconic Dubai Creek via a 1,300-meter-long viaduct.
As the Dubai Metro Blue Line continues development, more stations are expected to be named in future phases, as the city moves toward becoming one of the most advanced urban transit hubs globally.
