In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr. Chugh emphasized that there is no universal skincare formula; each skin type requires a customized approach.

Normal skin is balanced in oil and hydration, with smooth texture and minimal breakouts. It benefits from a gentle cleanser, lightweight moisturizer, and broad-spectrum sunscreen. Preservation is key, so overcomplicating the routine is unnecessary.

Dry skin often feels tight and may flake or appear dull. This type thrives with hydrating cleansers, serums containing hyaluronic acid or ceramides, and rich moisturizers. Sunscreen with added moisture is essential, and hot showers or harsh soaps should be avoided.

Oily skin is characterized by shine, enlarged pores, and acne. Ideal care includes a foaming cleanser with salicylic acid, oil-free moisturizer, and gel-based sunscreen. Moisturizing is important because skipping it can trigger more oil production.

Combination skin presents an oily T-zone with dry or normal cheeks. A gentle foaming cleanser, alcohol-free toner, and light gel moisturizer work well. Tailoring treatments for different areas, such as oil control for the forehead and hydration for the cheeks, ensures balance.
