Arsenal delivered one of their most commanding derby performances in recent years as Eberechi Eze stole the spotlight with a sensational hat-trick in a 4-1 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium. The midfielder, who chose Arsenal over Spurs during the summer transfer window, produced a masterclass that strengthened the Gunners’ push for the Premier League title.

Arsenal controlled the game from the outset, with Leandro Trossard opening the scoring after a slick move orchestrated by Mikel Merino. The hosts doubled their advantage before the break when Eze collected a precise pass from Declan Rice, gliding through a hesitant Spurs defence to slot home his first of the afternoon.

Tottenham struggled to cope with Arsenal’s tempo, organisation and intensity, and their defensive setup quickly unraveled. Just seconds after the interval, Eze punished Spurs again with an instinctive finish from close range to make it 3-0. While Richarlison briefly reduced the deficit with a spectacular long-range strike, it was little more than a consolation for a side that failed to create meaningful danger throughout the match.

Eze completed his hat-trick late in the second half, smashing home from inside the box following a clever assist from Trossard. The result not only extended Arsenal’s impressive unbeaten run but also marked their biggest victory over Tottenham in more than a decade. With Manchester City dropping points and Liverpool enduring inconsistency, the Gunners now find themselves in an enviable position in the title race.

Tottenham entered the match with the league’s strongest away record, but Thomas Frank’s defensive approach came under heavy scrutiny as his team failed to threaten a depleted Arsenal backline. Spurs rarely tested the home defence and spent much of the match penned in their own half, unable to cope with Arsenal’s relentless pressing and sharp passing combinations.

As Arsenal look ahead to a crucial Champions League clash against Bayern Munich and a league showdown with Chelsea, Eze’s brilliant performance could not have arrived at a better moment. His summer move now appears to be one of the signings of the season, and his derby heroics will go down as a defining chapter in his early Arsenal career.
