Fa9la, the high-energy Khaleeji hip-hop track by Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, has taken India by storm after being featured as the powerful entry music for Akshaye Khanna’s character in Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar. Much like Jamal Kudu did for Bobby Deol last year, Fa9la has now become the unexpected viral sensation of 2025, turning Akshaye Khanna’s introduction scene into one of the most talked-about cinematic moments in recent times.
The song, originally released in 2024, was incorporated by composer Shashwat Sachdev to elevate the persona of Rehman Dakait — a character brought to life by Akshaye Khanna with unmatched swagger. The track had already collected 7 million YouTube views before the film but exploded across Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Indian social media as soon as the movie hit theatres. The buzz grew so rapidly that Ranveer Singh and Jio released the film version online, with Ranveer even using it in his own Instagram post.
Flipperachi, whose real name is Hussam Aseem, is widely regarded as one of the leading voices in Arab hip-hop. Beginning his journey at age 12, the rapper developed a signature style that fused Khaleeji rhythms with contemporary rap elements. Since starting his professional career in 2003, he has collaborated globally and built a passionate fan base. Crowned Bahrain’s Artist of the Year in 2024, Flipperachi’s notable tracks include Ee Laa Shino AlKalam Hatha Shoofha and Nayda — all of which helped cement his growing influence before Fa9la’s massive rise in India.
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan, delivered mixed critical reviews but strong audience appeal. The film has generated excellent word of mouth, earning ₹152 crore gross worldwide in its opening weekend. With Fa9la becoming a nationwide trend and Akshaye’s performance going viral, the movie continues to attract growing attention both online and at the box office.
