Hollywood actress Gal Gadot received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday in Los Angeles, marking a major milestone in her career. The event celebrated her achievements in the entertainment industry, with close friends, family, and industry colleagues in attendance. Among them was her Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel, along with her husband Jaron Varsano and their four daughters.
While the ceremony was meant to be a joyous occasion, a particular moment between Gadot and her youngest daughter, Daniella, became the subject of online discussions. A video shared by People Magazine captured Gadot affectionately kissing her four-year-old daughter, a gesture that divided social media users. While many saw it as a natural and loving moment between a mother and child, some expressed discomfort, calling it inappropriate.
One user wrote, “Regardless of what people say, kissing a child on the lips is not normal.” Another comment read, “Sorry, but that’s weird.” A third added, “Parents shouldn’t kiss their children on the lips, even if it’s their own.”
However, many fans defended Gadot, emphasizing that expressions of affection between parents and children vary across different cultures and should not be judged harshly.
Political Protests Overshadow Ceremony
The event also saw political tensions rise as pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside the venue, voicing their opinions through banners and chants. While Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman, and Vin Diesel took the stage to honor Gadot’s accomplishments, protestors made their presence felt with signs and slogans. Some banners read, “Hamas No Mas,” while others waved Palestinian and Israeli flags. Another sign stated, “Qatar controls Hamas, free the hostages.”
According to Variety, chants such as “Up, up with liberation, down, down with occupation” could be heard throughout the event. One demonstrator was recorded saying, “There’s no reason to celebrate an Israeli,” referencing Gadot’s nationality and military background.
Despite these disruptions, which delayed the ceremony by 15 minutes, the event proceeded as planned. Gadot remained composed and delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude for her journey in the industry. She reflected, “I’m just a girl from a small town in Israel. This star will always remind me that with hard work, passion, and faith, anything is possible.”
The actress was accompanied by her husband and daughters—Alma (13), Maya (8), Daniella (3), and Ori (13 months)—as she celebrated this milestone in her career.
