The highly anticipated second season of Gen V, the spinoff of The Boys, has arrived, but it carries a deep sense of loss following the tragic passing of Chance Perdomo. The young actor, who played Andre Anderson, became a fan favorite in season 1 before his untimely death in March 2024. Now, his on-screen father Sean Patrick Thomas has spoken about how the show pays tribute to Chance while moving forward with its story.

Remembering Chance Perdomo in Gen V

Chance Perdomo’s sudden passing in a motorcycle accident shocked the cast, crew, and fans worldwide. At just 26, he had already established himself as a rising star with a magnetic screen presence. For Sean Patrick Thomas, who played Andre’s superhero father Polarity, the loss was especially hard since nearly all of his season 1 scenes were shared with Chance.

Speaking ahead of the season 2 premiere, Sean reflected on the void left behind: “You fill that hole by diving into what really happened. You honor the performer and the character by exploring the impact of his absence in the story and in our lives.”

Sean Patrick Thomas on Returning to Set

The actor admitted that returning to the Gen V set without Chance was emotionally challenging. “Everything I had done on Gen V up to that point was with Chance. So, to come back and not have him there, you feel that weight constantly. I just hope we did him justice and made him proud,” Sean said.

What Fans Can Expect from Season 2

While Gen V season 2 acknowledges the absence of Andre, it also raises the stakes with darker storylines, more intense action, and the trademark irreverence that fans expect from The Boys universe. Sean teased that the new season adds “maturity” to the narrative while still delivering shocking gore, twisted humor, and wild plot twists.

The season features returning cast members Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, and Asa Germann, alongside cameos from familiar faces in The Boys. Season 2 officially premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 17, 2025.

With heartfelt tributes to Chance Perdomo and bold storytelling that pushes boundaries, Gen V season 2 aims to honor the past while embracing a powerful new chapter in the saga.
