A major controversy has emerged in the German entertainment industry after Collien Fernandes filed a criminal complaint against her former husband Christian Ulmen, accusing him of serious misconduct involving digital manipulation and harassment.

According to the allegations, Fernandes claims that Ulmen created and distributed manipulated images and videos using artificial intelligence technology during their marriage. These materials were allegedly shared with individuals within the German film and television industry as well as people in their personal network.

The case gained public attention after a detailed report was published by Der Spiegel, following which Fernandes spoke about the matter on social media. She described the situation as a prolonged period of emotional distress and humiliation.

The complaint, which has been filed in Spain, includes multiple accusations such as identity misuse violation of privacy and alleged abuse. Authorities confirmed that the investigation is being handled by a court department that deals with cases related to violence against women. At this stage the case remains under investigation and no formal charges have been confirmed.

Fernandes also alleged that fake online profiles were created in her name and used to communicate with others by sharing explicit content. She further claimed that advanced tools were used to replicate her voice for inappropriate purposes.

Ulmen has denied all allegations through his legal representatives. A law firm acting on his behalf criticised the media report describing it as presenting a one sided narrative and containing disputed claims.

The situation has already had an impact on Ulmen’s professional work. German broadcaster ProSieben has removed episodes of his series Jerks from its streaming platform Joyn. Meanwhile public broadcaster ARD has not yet taken action regarding his appearances in Tatort.

The couple who married in 2011 were considered one of Germany’s well known celebrity pairs. They separated in 2025 and officially announced their divorce earlier this year. As legal proceedings continue the case is expected to draw significant attention given its focus on technology misuse privacy concerns and accountability within the entertainment industry.
