One of the world’s fastest-growing functional fitness competitions is officially making its debut in the UAE. DEKA, the globally recognised hybrid fitness race created by the team behind Spartan, is set to host a landmark event at Skydive Dubai on Saturday March 28.
Fresh from successful editions across North America Europe Asia and Australia, DEKA’s arrival in Dubai marks the first time athletes in the region can take part in its structured and measurable fitness racing format through a live competitive event.
The Dubai launch will showcase the DEKA FIT race model, a demanding yet inclusive challenge that combines ten functional workout zones with 500-metre runs between each station. In total, competitors will complete five kilometres of running while testing strength endurance and overall athletic performance.
Participants can choose to race solo or as part of a two-person team, making the event accessible to a wide range of fitness levels. Elite categories will compete for a cash prize pool, while age group and team heats allow everyday athletes to benchmark their fitness in a motivating race environment.
DEKA also plans to establish a long-term presence in the region through gym-hosted DEKA STRONG and DEKA MILE events, alongside major DEKA FIT races staged at iconic GCC locations. The system is designed to be repeatable and performance-driven, allowing athletes to train with intent and track progress over time.
Skydive Dubai has been selected as the official venue partner, aligning the event with one of the city’s most iconic locations for adrenaline-fuelled experiences. Spectator access and family waves will be free, while race entry tickets are available now across multiple categories and time slots.
Fitness enthusiasts are encouraged to secure their places early as demand is expected to be high for this inaugural UAE edition.
