Google has announced its latest Pixel software update for November 2025 introducing a series of new AI powered features designed to enhance messaging safety and personalisation across supported devices. The highlight of this rollout is a new Remix tool in Google Messages which allows users to creatively transform any selfie portrait or other photo into visual styles such as 3D artwork anime effects sketches and more using Google’s Nano Banana image editing model. These stylised images can be shared with any recipient and users chatting on Google Messages can even remix the same image collaboratively within the app.
The update also brings AI generated notification summaries helping Pixel owners stay on top of long group chats and extended conversations. Instead of scrolling through lengthy message threads users will now see a short recap directly in their notification shade. Starting December 2025 Google will also bundle and mute lower priority notifications ensuring fewer distractions throughout the day.
Safety upgrades are a major part of this Pixel drop. Pixel 6 and newer models in the US will now receive alerts for potentially harmful chat messages through the Scam Detection feature which analyses suspicious patterns and displays a Likely Scam warning. Google is also refreshing its VIP widget with a crisis badge that highlights urgent local alerts including severe weather events.
Other additions include personalised editing features in Google Photos for eligible Android users in the US and a simplified Power Saving mode in Google Maps showing only key directions to help extend battery life. Pixel users can further customise their devices with new Wicked For Good theme packs inspired by the film.
Google is expanding regional availability for two exclusive AI powered features as well. Scam Detection is rolling out to Pixel 9 and newer devices in Australia Canada India Ireland and the UK while Call Notes which records calls and generates on device transcripts and summaries will now be accessible in Australia Canada Ireland Japan and the UK.
