Healthy eating does not have to be dull, and nutrition expert Aathira Sethumadhavan demonstrates this perfectly with her flavorful dahi shimla mirch chicken recipe. Shared on Instagram, the dish combines taste and nutrition, making it an ideal option for those looking to enjoy a rich meal without compromising their diet goals.

This dish stands out for being creamy and tangy without the use of heavy cream. Instead, thick curd or Greek yogurt provides the richness while keeping the recipe lighter and protein-packed. The combination of tender chicken pieces, crunchy capsicum, onions, and spices creates a satisfying balance of texture and flavor.

According to Aathira Sethumadhavan, the recipe can be prepared in under 20 minutes, making it suitable for quick meals. It serves three portions, with each serving delivering around 334 calories, 32 grams of protein, 12 grams of carbohydrates, and 16 grams of fat, making it a well-balanced high-protein option.

To prepare the dish, chicken is first marinated with spices like turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, and ginger garlic paste. Meanwhile, sliced onions and capsicum are mixed with spices and crushed peanuts for added crunch. The marinated chicken is cooked in mustard oil until nearly done, followed by the addition of the vegetable mixture.

Once cooked, the heat is turned off before mixing in thick curd along with a touch of honey and chaat masala to enhance the tangy flavor. The dish is then garnished with green chillies, coriander leaves, and extra crushed peanuts for a final burst of freshness and texture.

This recipe is perfect for those craving something indulgent yet nutritious, offering a delicious way to stay on track with high-protein diets without opting for a cheat meal.
