Honor is preparing to expand its flagship lineup with the upcoming Honor Magic 8 Pro Air, and new leaks have revealed several key details just days before its official debut in China. The smartphone is set to launch alongside the premium Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, positioning itself as a slim and lightweight addition to the Magic 8 Pro series that first arrived in late 2025.

A recently surfaced unboxing video offers a closer look at the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air, highlighting both its internal specifications and refined design. The device appears in a striking Fairy Purple colour option and is shown to be exceptionally thin, measuring just 6.1mm while weighing around 155g. The slim profile is a major focus of the Air branding, making it one of the lightest flagship smartphones in its category.

According to the video, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone is expected to run Android 16-based MagicOS 10 out of the box, offering the latest software features and optimisations. It may also include Honor’s E2 energy efficiency chip to enhance power management and performance.

On the front, the device reportedly features a high-resolution display with 1216 x 2640 pixels, complemented by Honor Oasis Eye Protection technology for improved visual comfort. A hole-punch cutout houses the selfie camera, while the rear panel is expected to feature a triple camera setup housed in a redesigned camera module. A new Camera Control-style button is also visible, which could allow quick access to camera functions such as zoom and capture.

Battery details revealed earlier are further supported by the leak, with the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air expected to pack a 5500mAh Qinghai Lake battery. Despite its slim build, the phone is shown to support fast charging, with an 80W charging adapter included in the box along with a USB Type-C cable and a transparent protective case.

Honor has confirmed that the Magic 8 Pro Air will officially launch in China on January 19 at 7:30pm local time. The smartphone will be available in multiple colour options including Fairy Purple Light Orange Feather White and Shadow Black. More official details are expected to be revealed as the launch date approaches.
