Honor is reportedly preparing to move faster than its rivals in the ultra-flagship smartphone race, with fresh leaks suggesting that the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design could arrive in early 2026. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the premium device may debut before competing models like the Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra, which are expected to launch after the Chinese Spring Festival.

Industry insiders claim Honor is accelerating its launch strategy in China following the debut of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. A tip shared on Weibo indicates that the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design could be unveiled ahead of the Spring Festival on February 17, 2026, giving Honor an early advantage in the ultra-premium segment. If accurate, this would make it one of the first “super-sized” flagships to feature Qualcomm’s latest top-tier processor.

While Vivo and Oppo are also preparing their next Ultra smartphones, both brands are believed to be targeting a later release window. The Vivo X300 Ultra and Oppo Find X9 Ultra are expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2026 and are rumored to feature flat 2K displays along with a new 200-megapixel main camera sensor, making them strong rivals once launched.

Honor has already introduced the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro in China, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and running MagicOS 10. These devices feature large displays, high-capacity batteries exceeding 7,000mAh, and advanced camera systems. The Magic 8 Pro, in particular, offers a triple rear camera setup with a 200-megapixel telephoto lens capable of high optical and digital zoom, alongside enhanced stabilization and imaging features.

With the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, Honor is expected to push design, performance, and exclusivity even further. If the early 2026 launch timeline holds true, Honor could set the pace for the next wave of ultra-flagship smartphones before its biggest competitors enter the market.
