Honor has officially confirmed that its next-generation clamshell foldable, the Honor Magic V Flip 2, will launch in China on August 21 at 7:30pm local time (5pm IST). Pre-reservations for the device are already open through Honor’s official website and select e-commerce partners, giving fans an early opportunity to secure the upcoming flagship.
The Magic V Flip 2 will arrive in four stunning colour variants—blue, grey, purple, and white—with the sparkling blue edition designed by renowned fashion designer Jimmy Choo, whose name is elegantly engraved on the phone’s hinge. The grey model boasts a sleek matte finish, while the purple and white options feature a unique marble-inspired pattern.
From the official images, the foldable appears to feature an expansive edge-to-edge cover display. It houses two outward-facing cameras of equal size, a change from the first-generation Magic V Flip’s asymmetrical lens design. The main foldable display is expected to deliver an immersive viewing experience with its 6.8-inch Full-HD+ LTPO panel, ultra-slim bezels, and a centred hole-punch camera cutout.
Leaks suggest the Honor Magic V Flip 2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and equipped with a 4-inch Full-HD+ LTPO cover display. On the rear, it could sport a 50-megapixel 1/1.5-inch primary sensor, promising high-quality photography. One of the most exciting upgrades is its massive 5,500mAh battery—the largest ever in a clamshell foldable—paired with 80W wired fast charging for speedy top-ups.
This model will replace the original Honor Magic V Flip, which debuted in June 2024, and aims to raise the bar in design, performance, and endurance for compact foldable smartphones.
