Honor has quietly unveiled key details of its upcoming smartphone, the Honor Play 80, through its official listing in China. The device appears to target budget-conscious users while still offering modern features including 5G connectivity and a large display.
The Honor Play 80 features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, designed to deliver a smooth viewing experience for everyday usage such as browsing streaming and gaming. It runs on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, ensuring access to the latest software features and optimizations.
Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with a Mali G57 MC2 GPU. The device is available in multiple configurations offering up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Additionally, users can benefit from virtual RAM expansion up to 16GB through Honor’s RAM Turbo technology for improved multitasking performance.
In terms of photography, the smartphone includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f2.2 aperture suitable for everyday photography needs. On the front, a 5-megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls.
The phone supports a wide range of connectivity features including 5G WiFi Bluetooth 5.3 GPS and USB Type C. It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack which is becoming rare in modern smartphones. Essential sensors such as ambient light proximity and gravity sensors are also included.
A major highlight of the device is its 5300mAh battery which supports 15W wired charging. The company claims the battery can deliver extended usage including long hours of media playback on a single charge making it suitable for heavy daily use.
The Honor Play 80 is listed in multiple storage variants and will be available in attractive color options including Azure Sky Lake Blue and Inky Black. Pricing details are yet to be officially announced but it is expected to fall in the affordable segment.
