Huawei has officially introduced the Huawei Mate 80 Pro to global markets during its launch event in Madrid expanding its flagship Mate lineup beyond China. The international version brings high-end camera hardware ultra-fast charging and a premium OLED display although it differs slightly in software from its Chinese counterpart.
The global Mate 80 Pro runs on EMUI 15.0 while the China-exclusive model features HarmonyOS 6.0 and is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset. Huawei has not yet confirmed the processor used in the global edition. The device is available in a single configuration offering 16GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage and comes in Black Green and Gold colour options.
The smartphone sports a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2832 × 1280 pixels and a 460ppi pixel density. It supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz 1440Hz PWM dimming up to 1.07 billion colours and peak brightness reaching 3000 nits delivering a vibrant viewing experience.
On the camera front the Mate 80 Pro features a triple rear setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with variable aperture ranging from f1.4 to f4.0 along with optical image stabilisation. It also includes a 40-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 48-megapixel macro telephoto camera offering 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. For selfies the handset carries a 13-megapixel wide-angle front camera with autofocus. Both front and rear systems support 4K video recording.
Powering the device is a 5,750mAh battery supporting 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. The Mate 80 Pro is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance and includes connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth 6.0 USB Type-C NFC dual-band GPS and NavIC. The handset measures 161.85 × 76 × 7.95mm and weighs approximately 219g.
