The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design, introduced by the company on Tuesday, is the world’s inaugural tri-fold smartphone, unveiled just hours after Apple revealed the iPhone 16 series. Boasting a 10.2-inch display when fully extended, Huawei asserts the screen is crafted from flexible materials capable of bending in multiple directions. The device features a triple outer camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Additionally, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is powered by a 5,600mAh battery.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design Price and Availability

The starting price for the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is CNY 19,999 (approximately Rs. 2,35,900) for the base model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device also comes in 512GB and 1TB storage variants, priced at CNY 21,999 (around Rs. 2,59,500) and CNY 23,999 (roughly Rs. 2,83,100), respectively.

Available in Dark Black and Rui Red color options, the foldable phone can be preordered through Huawei Vmall and will be available for purchase in China starting September 20.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design Specifications and Features

Running on HarmonyOS 4.2 out-of-the-box, the dual-SIM (Nano+Nano) Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design features a 10.2-inch (3,184×2,232 pixels) flexible LTPO OLED display that transforms into a 7.9-inch (2,048×2,232 pixels) screen when folded once, and a 6.4-inch screen (1,008×2,232 pixels) when folded twice.

The specific chipset powering the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design has not yet been disclosed by the company. The device is equipped with 16GB of RAM and is available in storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

On the exterior, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design includes a 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a variable aperture ranging from f/1.2 to f/4.0. Additionally, it sports a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 5.5x optical zoom, OIS, and an f/3.4 aperture. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera housed in a center-aligned hole-punch cutout on the display.

Connectivity options for the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. The handset also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and a 5,600mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It measures 156.7x73x12.8mm when using a single screen, 156.7x143x7.45mm with a dual screen, and 156.7x219x3.6mm with a triple screen, and weighs 298g.
