Fresh leaks hint that the upcoming Huawei Nova 16 lineup could bring notable changes, including updated colour options and a new top-tier model. While Huawei has not officially confirmed the launch, reports indicate that the next-generation Nova series may arrive later this year, following the release pattern of the previous lineup.
According to information shared by a Chinese tipster, the Nova 16 series is expected to feature three models — the standard Nova 16, Nova 16 Pro, and a newly introduced Nova 16 Pro Max. Interestingly, the Ultra variant seen in the previous generation might be discontinued this time, with the Pro Max expected to take its place as the premium offering. This model is also rumored to feature a larger display compared to the other variants.
In terms of design, the Nova 16 and Nova 16 Pro are tipped to be available in multiple colour finishes, including black, white, blue, and gradient options. Meanwhile, the Pro Max version may come in more classic shades such as black, white, and blue.
Performance upgrades are also expected, with the lineup likely to be powered by new Kirin 9-series chipsets, offering improved efficiency and speed. Battery capacity could see a significant boost as well, with reports suggesting that higher-end variants may pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, while the base model could still feature a battery exceeding 6,000mAh.
Looking at the previous generation for comparison, the Nova 15 series launched in December 2025 included the Nova 15, Nova 15 Pro, and Nova 15 Ultra models. These devices featured high-refresh-rate displays, large battery capacities, and fast charging support, setting a strong foundation for the upcoming lineup.
If Huawei follows a similar release timeline, the Nova 16 series could make its debut toward the end of this year. While official details remain under wraps, these early leaks suggest that Huawei is aiming to refine its Nova lineup with enhanced performance, larger batteries, and refreshed design options.
