Huawei is gearing up to unveil its much-anticipated Nova Flip foldable phone on August 5 in China. The Chinese tech giant has released multiple teasers, giving a glimpse of what to expect from the new foldable. The Nova Flip will feature a compact square-shaped external display and dual rear cameras, and will come in at least four colors. It will be the first flip phone in the Nova series and will run on HarmonyOS.
The launch event is scheduled for 19:00 (4:30 PM IST). In addition to the Nova Flip, Huawei is expected to introduce new tablets and laptops. Teasers on Weibo showcase the Nova Flip’s design, including a green variant with a flat display and slim bezels. This design marks a shift from the circular screens of the Pocket series.
Promoted by Jackson Yee of the Chinese music group TFBoys, the Nova Flip features two vertically aligned cameras on the top-left corner of the cover display. The main display has a hole-punch cutout for the front camera, and the power button may also function as a fingerprint scanner. The SIM slot is located at the bottom, and the phone will be available in at least three colors: black, pink, and white. The handset seems to have a metal frame.
Alongside the Nova Flip, Huawei is expected to launch the MateBook GT 14, MatePad Pro 12.2, and more on August 5. The Nova Flip is anticipated to be more affordable than the Pocket series.
