Huawei Pura X Unveiled With 6.3-Inch Foldable Display, Premium Design, and Satellite Communication

Huawei has officially introduced the Huawei Pura X, a clamshell foldable smartphone with a unique design and a wide 6.3-inch inner screen featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio. Launched in China, this new device sets itself apart with a 3.5-inch external display, triple rear cameras, and a powerful battery with fast charging capabilities. The phone runs on HarmonyOS 5.0.1 and supports up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It also boasts an IPX8-rated build, ensuring water and dust resistance.

Huawei Pura X Pricing and Availability

The Huawei Pura X is available for pre-orders in China, with sales commencing on March 21. Pricing for the base variant (12GB RAM + 256GB storage) is CNY 7,499 (around Rs. 89,000), while the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model is priced at CNY 7,999 (approximately Rs. 95,000).

Additionally, Huawei is offering a Collector’s Edition featuring a tri-color back panel and satellite communication capabilities. The Collector’s Edition comes in two variants:

  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage at CNY 8,999 (around Rs. 1,08,000)
  • 16GB RAM + 1TB storage at CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,19,000)

Color options include Moon Shadow Gray, Magic Night Black, Stylish Red, Stylish Green, and Zero White.

Huawei Pura X Specifications

The Huawei Pura X runs on HarmonyOS 5.0.1 and sports a 6.3-inch OLED LTPO 2.0 internal display with a 1,320 × 2,120 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This 16:10 aspect ratio enhances media consumption compared to standard flip-style foldables with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The external screen measures 3.5 inches with a 980 × 980 resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

Although Huawei has not officially confirmed the processor, leaks suggest it could be powered by a variant of the Kirin 9010 chipset.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Huawei Pura X features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide macro camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS. The inner screen houses a 10.7-megapixel selfie camera.

The Huawei Pura X supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Beidou, NavIC, and includes a USB Type-C port. Additional features include an infrared sensor, gyroscope, gravity sensor, hall sensor, ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, gesture sensor, and proximity sensor. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner provides secure authentication.

The phone is backed by a 4,720mAh battery, supporting 66W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. The Collector’s Edition also includes Tiantong satellite communication.

With cutting-edge features and premium design, the Huawei Pura X aims to redefine foldable smartphone technology.
