Huawei is reportedly preparing to expand its foldable smartphone lineup with the launch of the Huawei Pura X2 in China. According to recent leaks the upcoming device will succeed the Huawei Pura X launched in 2025 and is expected to feature a wide foldable form factor aimed at competing with next generation devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Wide Fold. While Huawei has not officially confirmed the handset multiple tipsters have revealed key details about its display chipset and camera setup.
The Huawei Pura X2 is said to feature a large 7.69 inch WQHD plus inner foldable screen paired with a 5.5 inch outer cover display offering a tablet like viewing experience when unfolded. The phone is tipped to be powered by Huawei’s upgraded Kirin 9030 processor placing it in the premium foldable segment. Leaks also suggest the presence of a telephoto lens on the rear alongside a quad camera system.
The device is expected to run HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box and may launch in multiple RAM and storage variants including configurations going up to 20GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. Colour options are also said to be extensive with white orange green blue black and purple variants reportedly in the pipeline.
In terms of design dimensions the Huawei Pura X2 is believed to measure around 192mm by 120mm when unfolded and approximately 120mm by 96mm when folded making it wider than traditional book style foldables. This aligns with industry trends as other brands like Samsung and Apple are also rumoured to be developing wide folding smartphones.
The original Huawei Pura X debuted in March 2025 with a Kirin 9010 chipset and a starting price of CNY 7499. With upgraded internals a larger display and enhanced camera hardware the Huawei Pura X2 is expected to raise the bar further in the foldable smartphone market if the leaks turn out to be accurate.
