Huawei has introduced its latest flagship lineup in China, revealing the Mate 80 series with four premium models — the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and the Mate 80 RS Master Edition. The new generation brings major upgrades in performance, photography, design, and battery technology, powered by Huawei’s advanced Kirin chipsets and the updated HarmonyOS 6.0 platform.

The smartphones arrive in multiple storage options, going up to a massive 20GB RAM and 1TB internal storage, while boasting improved cameras, LTPO AMOLED displays, IP68+IP69 durability ratings, and fast wired and wireless charging. Huawei has also refreshed its signature design language with new finishes, upgraded Kunlun glass protection, and enhanced colour science through its second-generation Red Maple camera system.

Huawei Mate 80 Series: Pricing and Market Availability

The standard Mate 80 starts at CNY 4,699 for the 12GB + 256GB model, with higher configurations available at increased pricing. The Mate 80 Pro begins at CNY 5,999 and also comes in multiple RAM and storage variants, including a premium 1TB option.

The Mate 80 Pro Max is positioned as a top-tier flagship with pricing beginning at CNY 7,999 for the 16GB + 512GB version. Meanwhile, the luxury-focused Mate 80 RS Master Edition starts at CNY 11,999 and is offered in exclusive colourways and an upgraded build. All models come in elegant shades such as Obsidian Black, Snowy White, Dawn Gold, and more, depending on the variant.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max: Specifications and Features

The Mate 80 Pro Max features a large 6.9-inch Full-HD+ LTPO AMOLED panel, offering a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It is shielded by Huawei’s second-generation Kunlun glass for improved durability.

Powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, the device delivers strong multitasking performance and AI capabilities. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, and dual 50MP telephoto and macro telephoto shooters. A 13MP front camera and 3D depth camera round out the setup.

The device includes a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging, 80W wireless charging, and 18W reverse charging. With IP68+IP69 protection, the phone withstands dust, water, and extreme environments.

Both models sport a 6.75-inch LTPO AMOLED display with the same Kunlun glass protection. The Mate 80 Pro runs on the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, while the standard Mate 80 uses the Kirin 9020 Pro.

The camera configuration varies slightly between the two, but both retain Huawei’s signature RYYB sensor technology and feature enhanced ultra-wide and telephoto capabilities. Battery performance also differs, with the Mate 80 Pro offering 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, while the Mate 80 provides 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

The Mate 80 RS Master Edition stands out as the luxury model of the series. It features third-generation basalt-tempered Kunlun glass, a Kirin 9030 Pro chip paired with 20GB RAM, and storage up to 1TB.

The camera system mirrors the Pro Max variant, delivering versatile photography with its variable-aperture 50MP primary sensor, high-resolution telephoto shooters, and improved colour rendering through the Red Maple imaging engine.

Its 6,000mAh battery supports fast wired and wireless charging across the board, including reverse wireless charging, making it one of Huawei’s most advanced devices to date.
