Hollywood star Hugh Jackman and Australian actress and producer Deborra-Lee Furness have legally finalized their divorce, bringing their 27-year-long marriage to a formal end. As per New York’s Suffolk County Supreme Court records, the divorce judgment was officially filed on June 12 and published online on June 23. The case is now listed as “disposed,” confirming the legal closure of their union, as first reported by People.
Jackman, known globally for his role as Wolverine in the Deadpool & Wolverine franchise, and Furness first tied the knot in 1996. In September 2023, after nearly three decades together, the couple announced their separation. They share two children, Oscar and Ava, and maintained throughout the separation process that their family remained their top priority.
The divorce, which was uncontested, simply required judicial approval. Furness filed the official paperwork two years after their separation announcement. In a heartfelt statement following the filing, she reflected on the pain of betrayal and described it as a “deep wound.” She also mentioned that her spiritual beliefs helped her cope with the emotional challenges of ending such a long-term relationship.
The former couple had earlier released a joint statement highlighting their mutual respect and appreciation, emphasizing love, kindness, and gratitude as they transitioned into the next chapter of their lives. They also requested privacy for their family during the transition.
Meanwhile, rumors about Hugh Jackman’s current romantic life have surfaced, suggesting he is in a relationship with actress Sutton Foster. The pair initially bonded in the early 2000s through their work in Broadway musicals and later starred together in The Music Man revival, which debuted in 2022. Foster was previously married to Ted Griffin but filed for divorce in October 2024. By January 2025, Jackman and Foster were publicly spotted together, confirming their relationship.
