Actor Ileana D’Cruz has spoken out strongly in support of global music icon Rihanna after the singer faced online criticism about her body following childbirth. The debate reignited conversations around unrealistic beauty standards placed on women particularly in the public eye.

Rihanna who welcomed her daughter Rocki in September 2025 was recently photographed in Los Angeles with her son Riot. Shortly after the images surfaced on social media platform X several users began commenting negatively on her appearance questioning why she had not “bounced back” to her pre pregnancy body. Some posts compared older photos of the singer to recent ones while others made remarks about her physical changes.

Responding to the backlash Ileana shared a post highlighting the criticism and expressed her frustration over the expectations placed on new mothers. She emphasised that childbirth and motherhood are significant life experiences and that women should not be pressured to immediately return to previous body standards. Calling the criticism infuriating she pointed out that growing and nurturing a child is far more important than conforming to superficial beauty norms.

Rihanna herself has previously addressed her post pregnancy body with confidence. During an appearance at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week earlier this year she openly spoke about embracing the natural changes that came after motherhood and choosing outfits that celebrate rather than conceal her body.

Rihanna and rapper A AP Rocky share three children including sons RZA and Riot and their youngest daughter Rocki Irish.

On the professional front Ileana was last seen in the film Do Aur Do Pyaar alongside Vidya Balan Pratik Gandhi and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Beyond her acting career Ileana is also a mother of two sons Koa Phoenix Dolan and Keanu Rafe Dolan.

The incident has once again sparked discussion about body positivity celebrity scrutiny and the ongoing pressure on women to meet unrealistic standards after pregnancy.
