Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 lineup is expected to continue with a design language similar to last year’s models, according to a new leak. While the company is reportedly preparing to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max later this year, major exterior changes now appear unlikely. Instead, Apple is said to be shifting attention toward internal improvements and chipset optimisation rather than visual redesigns.

Industry tipster Fixed Focus Digital shared on Weibo that the strong sales performance of the iPhone 17 series may be influencing Apple’s decision to retain a familiar look for the iPhone 18 models. The new lineup is expected to maintain similar sizes and overall aesthetics as its predecessor. Earlier rumours had hinted at under display Face ID technology and a smaller Dynamic Island, but these features may be introduced gradually rather than through a full redesign.

Apple is widely expected to equip the iPhone 18 series with its next generation A20 and A20 Pro processors. These chipsets are rumoured to be built using advanced 2nm technology, offering improved efficiency and performance gains. By prioritising silicon upgrades, Apple aims to enhance speed battery life and overall user experience without altering the external design significantly.

The iPhone 18 Pro models are tipped to launch in September alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Display sizes are expected to remain consistent with previous models including a 6.27 inch panel for the Pro version and a larger 6.86 inch screen for the Pro Max. Both models could feature 12GB of RAM improved front cameras and triple 48 megapixel rear camera systems. Pricing is also expected to stay in line with the iPhone 17 series.
