Jennifer Lopez has embraced personal growth and career focus as she navigates her separation from Ben Affleck. In her latest project, the film “Unstoppable,” Lopez discusses how she has set aside her ego to prioritize her role and personal development.
The 55-year-old actress and singer shared in an interview with Amazon/MGM about her experience working on “Unstoppable” during her estrangement from Affleck. “It was an honor to be a part of Anthony Robles’ story and to play Judy,” Jennifer explained. “I approached the role with complete humility and respect for Judy’s story.”
Lopez emphasized her dedication to the role, stating, “I disappeared; there was no Jennifer, no J. Lo. That person on the screen is just Judy. I was fortunate to spend time with her and understand her life as an individual and as a mother.”
Following their divorce, Ben Affleck has developed a close friendship with David and Victoria Beckham, which has reportedly caused feelings of jealousy for Lopez. Despite these challenges, Lopez remains focused on her work.
Affleck, along with Matt Damon, produced “Unstoppable,” a film that narrates the inspiring journey of wrestler Anthony Robles. Affleck praised Lopez’s performance, calling it “spectacular.”
“Unstoppable is different from ‘Small Things Like These,’ but it shares a deep passion from talented artists,” Affleck said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Billy Goldenberg, Jennifer, Don Cheadle, Jharrel Jerome, and Bobby Cannavale were all deeply invested in this project.”
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited and married in 2022, but Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024 after reports of marital struggles and living separately. An insider told InTouch Weekly, “Ben is focusing on his work and children now. They’ll always care for each other, but they couldn’t change each other.”
Lopez reflected on her current life stage in an Interview Magazine feature, saying, “I was reflecting on my life, thinking it didn’t turn out as expected. But then I realized, this is exactly where I needed to be.”
