According to ITV’s post, the upcoming season plunges into the 1980s as DI Pirie investigates a chilling kidnapping from a local fish and chip shop. The story draws inspiration from Val McDermid’s crime novel A Darker Domain and is adapted for television by Emer Kenny, who also reprises her role in the cast.
