Kate Cassidy has opened up about the heartbreaking final time she saw Liam Payne, days before his tragic death in Argentina. The 26-year-old influencer and former girlfriend of the late One Direction star shared her feelings in an emotional TikTok video posted on October 12, ahead of the first anniversary of Payne’s death.
Looking visibly emotional on camera, Cassidy confessed, “The last time I saw Liam still replays in my mind like it was yesterday. I feel so numb that nothing could shake me right now.” She expressed how deeply she misses him and used the moment to remind others to cherish their loved ones.
“I wanted to make this video because we never know what tomorrow holds,” she said. “Always tell the people you love how much they mean to you.”
Remembering Their Final Goodbye
In her video, Kate recounted the final moments she shared with Liam before leaving Argentina. “I was sitting next to him on the couch, telling him how much I’d miss him,” she said tearfully. “He told me, ‘Kate, you’re going to miss your flight. You’re acting like this is the last time you’ll ever see me.’ And sadly, it was.”
She paused before adding, “I’m grateful that our last goodbye was full of love. I’ll hold that memory forever.”
A Life Gone Too Soon
Liam Payne, aged 31, passed away on October 16, 2024, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Officials later confirmed that the cause of death was polytrauma, with traces of alcohol, antidepressants, and cocaine found in the toxicology report.
Cassidy and Payne began dating in late 2022, first spotted together at a Halloween event and later confirming their romance at the British Fashion Awards. While reports suggested they broke up in May 2024, the couple appeared reconciled after being seen together again in London a month later.
Following Liam’s death, Kate posted a heartfelt tribute on her Instagram Stories:
