Lenovo has announced the cancellation of select pre-orders for its Legion Go 2 gaming handheld after experiencing unprecedented demand. Customers who ordered directly through Lenovo.com may be affected, although additional units are being shipped to global retailers to improve availability.

The Legion Go 2, unveiled at IFA Berlin 2025, features the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and an 8.8-inch OLED display, offering high-performance gaming in a portable form. Despite Lenovo’s efforts to fulfill all pre-orders quickly, delays led the company to cancel some online orders, ensuring that payments are not held for products that cannot be shipped promptly.

In a Reddit AMA on the Legion Go subreddit, Lenovo confirmed that while some pre-orders on their official website will be canceled, more units are en route to major retail partners worldwide. The company reassured fans that inventory on Lenovo.com will be updated once shipments arrive, and ordering will reopen soon.

Lenovo acknowledged the frustration caused to loyal customers, emphasizing that the experience offers lessons for improving future pre-order fulfillment. “The Legion Go Gen 2 was created with gamers in mind, and we aim to enhance our processes for a smoother experience moving forward,” the company stated.

In addition to current features, Lenovo confirmed that the Legion Go 2 will support Xbox full-screen mode starting spring 2026, providing an enhanced gaming interface for Windows handhelds. Enthusiastic users have already discovered ways to enable Xbox mode ahead of the official launch. The handheld is currently not available for purchase in India.

The cancellations follow Lenovo’s earlier announcement that pre-orders for the Legion Go 2 had substantially exceeded projections, resulting in unexpected delivery delays. Despite this, the company continues to expand global availability through retailer channels.
