Liev Schreiber experienced an unexpected medical episode on Sunday after a strong and persistent headache led him to seek urgent care in New York. According to reports the actor was taken to the hospital on November 16 where doctors carried out multiple tests to identify the cause of his discomfort. While the exact reason behind the severe headache has not yet been confirmed his representatives shared that he has already been cleared to resume work indicating that the situation is stable.
This sudden episode comes against the backdrop of a similar health concern Schreiber faced in 2024 when he suffered temporary memory loss brought on by a migraine. Although it is still unclear whether the recent incident was linked to that earlier condition his swift recovery suggests the issue may not have been serious. His team emphasized that he chose to undergo evaluations purely as a precaution.
Schreiber has openly discussed his previous encounter with transient global amnesia a rare condition that causes abrupt memory lapses. He revealed during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he once developed an intense headache while preparing for a Broadway performance of Doubt: A Parable and soon after struggled to recall lines and even the name of a co-star. At that time a doctor friend informed him that the condition typically resolves within hours and does not prevent continued professional activity.
Despite these health scares the 58-year-old continues to stay active in his career and personal life. He is married to Taylor Niesen with whom he shares a daughter named Hazel. Before this marriage Schreiber was in a long-term relationship with Naomi Watts and the two co-parent their children Sasha and Kai.
