After nearly three decades together, actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli have reportedly decided to take a step back from their marriage. The news comes after the couple listed their 11,800-square-foot Hidden Hills mansion for $16.5 million earlier this year, sparking rumors of a potential separation.
A representative for Loughlin confirmed to People that while the pair are currently living apart, there are no legal divorce proceedings at this time. The rep added that the two are “taking a break” and focusing on personal space as they navigate the next phase of their relationship. Despite speculation, neither Loughlin nor Giannulli has publicly shared the reason for their separation.
The couple, parents to Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, have faced significant challenges in recent years. In 2020, both pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud charges after being accused of paying $500,000 to secure their daughters’ admission into the University of Southern California under false athletic pretenses.
Loughlin served two months in federal prison, while Giannulli completed a five-month sentence. Following her release in December 2020, the Full House alum has gradually returned to acting, appearing in projects like When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas, the 2023 film Fall into Winter, and an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
In a previous interview, Loughlin reflected on overcoming adversity, saying, “Everyone has good times and bad times. I think you just have to pick yourself up and keep moving forward. There’s beauty and hardship in life—it’s all part of the journey.”
While the future of their marriage remains uncertain, the couple’s decision to live separately appears to be an opportunity for introspection rather than a definitive end.
