Inter Miami have confirmed that veteran striker Luis Suárez will continue his journey with the MLS champions, signing on for the 2026 season and once again sharing the pitch with longtime teammate Lionel Messi. The announcement secures the Uruguayan forward’s place at the club as it prepares to open its new stadium near Miami International Airport.

Suárez, who turns 39 in January, will enter his third season with Inter Miami. Despite his reduced minutes toward the end of the recent MLS Cup playoffs, the experienced striker remained a key contributor across competitions. During the past season, he recorded 17 goals and 17 assists in 50 appearances, showcasing his continued influence in attack.

Since joining the club ahead of the 2024 campaign, Suárez has played a crucial role in Inter Miami’s rise. He helped deliver the club’s first-ever Supporters’ Shield and finished that season as the team’s top scorer with 25 goals across all competitions. His 20 regular-season goals placed him among the league’s elite, tying with Messi for one of the highest tallies in MLS.

Inter Miami’s squad is undergoing a transition following the retirements of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. However, the club continues to strengthen its core, recently extending defender Ian Fray’s contract through the 2028–29 season. With Suárez and Messi still leading the frontline, Inter Miami are positioning themselves for another strong title challenge in the seasons ahead.
