Meta has officially partnered with Oakley to introduce a cutting-edge pair of AI-enabled smart glasses designed specifically for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Named Oakley Meta HSTN, these advanced glasses combine Oakley’s iconic sportswear aesthetic with Meta’s smart technology to create a stylish yet functional accessory for high-performance lifestyles.
The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses take inspiration from Oakley’s HSTN frame and are crafted for users who demand both form and function. Equipped with a powerful 3K ultra-clear camera, these glasses let users capture immersive, hands-free video directly from their own perspective — perfect for recording sports sessions or outdoor adventures. Additionally, integrated open-ear speakers allow for seamless audio experiences such as listening to music, joining calls, or receiving real-time coaching, all without traditional earbuds.
What sets these glasses apart is the inclusion of Meta’s built-in AI assistant. The AI offers smart support during activities — for example, providing weather updates mid-round on the golf course or posting videos to social media via voice commands. The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses are IPX4-rated, offering protection against water splashes, rain, and sweat, making them suitable for tough outdoor environments.
Battery performance is also impressive, with up to eight hours of use on a full charge. A 20-minute quick charge gives approximately 50% battery, and the included portable charging case extends total usage by up to 48 additional hours.
Initially launching in select global markets including the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and Australia, the limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN will be available for preorder starting July 11 at $499 (approx. ₹43,200). A wider release will follow with prices starting from $399 (around ₹34,600). Meta has confirmed that the smart glasses will be released in India, Mexico, and the UAE by the end of the year.
This launch signals Meta’s growing focus on integrating artificial intelligence into lifestyle wearables, offering users not just smart features but also premium design and comfort. The campaign features global sports icons such as football star Kylian Mbappé and NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, underlining its appeal to active users around the world.
