The Ministry of Education has announced that all students across the UAE will move to distance learning for a temporary period this week. The decision applies to public and private schools as well as universities nationwide.
Under the directive classes will be conducted online from Monday March 2 through Wednesday March 4 2026. Teaching staff and administrative employees will also operate remotely during this period.
The move comes as part of precautionary measures introduced across the country to prioritise public safety. Authorities have implemented a number of exceptional steps including the temporary closure of UAE airspace. Education officials confirmed that learning continuity plans are in place to ensure students can continue their studies without disruption while remaining at home.
In a joint announcement shared by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research the ministries stated that the remote learning period will be monitored closely. Officials added that the arrangement could be extended if necessary depending on developments within the UAE and the wider region.
Parents students and staff have been advised to follow official communication channels for further updates as authorities continue to assess the situation throughout the week.
