Moonrise Unveils Unique ‘Dubai Cuisine’ Tasting Menu Inspired by Street Food Classics

Dubai cuisine tasting menu Moonrise Dubai street food fine dining Dubai shawarma

Dubai’s vibrant food culture is getting a creative twist as Moonrise introduces a specially curated tasting experience that reimagines the city’s most loved street food staples. Known for its multicultural culinary identity, Dubai blends flavors from across the world — from late-night shawarma cravings to early-morning karak chai rituals — and this new concept captures that essence in a refined yet familiar format.

Launching on May 6, the six-course tasting menu is priced at Dhs500 per person and focuses on what the restaurant calls “Dubai cuisine.” Rather than simply upgrading street food into fine dining, the concept aims to reinterpret everyday dishes with thoughtful presentation, storytelling, and technique while staying true to their roots.

Guests can expect creative takes on iconic favorites such as chips Oman with spicy tuna, shawarma-inspired creations, pani puri bites, and paratha paired with karak. Each dish is designed to reflect how residents of Dubai actually eat, blending comfort food with culinary precision.

A standout feature of the experience is its storytelling approach. Every course is accompanied by a card detailing the origin of the dish, including references to real eateries and cafés in Dubai where the original versions can be found. This adds a layer of authenticity and connection to the city’s food culture.

The concept is led by chef-patron Solemann Haddad, who has been shaping his interpretation of Dubai cuisine since opening Moonrise in 2021. His latest menu continues that vision, focusing less on traditional fine dining labels and more on capturing the spirit of everyday dining in the city.

Locally inspired ingredients play a key role in the menu, with elements such as loomi, sidr honey, mangrove honey, saffron, chai spices, dates, gahwa, bzar, and fresh local hamour incorporated throughout the courses. The result is a blend of nostalgic flavors and modern creativity.

Located on the rooftop of Eden House in Al Satwa, Moonrise offers an intimate dining setting with just 15 seats, making reservations essential. The experience delivers a fresh perspective on street food while staying deeply connected to Dubai’s culinary identity.

With its thoughtful approach and limited seating, this tasting menu presents a new way to explore the flavors of Dubai — one that feels both innovative and authentically local.
